Developing LeadersDr. Ken Haycock is Director of the School of Library and Information Science at San Jose State University. His presentation, Developing Leaders:
outlined the differences between management and leadership
defined leadership; and
described the characteristics of leaders.
According to Haycock, there are four competencies of good leaders:
managing attention
managing meaning
managing trust
managing oneself
Leaders also exhibit the following attributes:
agreement building
networking
non-jurisdictional power
